I'm suing the Canadian Government for sending arms to Israel.
Canada has at least $28.5M in export permits to Israel since Oct 7.
My mother Hiba Farah and I, the Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR), and Palestinian organization Al-Haq are currently suing the Canadian government for arming Israel.
Sending military goods to Israel violates Canadian and international law.
Canada’s 28.5 million dollars of military exports to Israel include:
Electronics and space equipment
Military aerospace exports and components; and
Bombs, missiles, rockets and general military explosives
These Canadian exports are being used all over the Gaza strip, and undoubtedly are being used in the siege of Jabalia where our people are being rounded up and exterminated as we speak.
We know that the legal system was not built for us.
We also know that direct aid is needed on the ground to help families survive.
And this year, grassroots direct action, Boycott Divestment Sanctions, community networks, digital advocacy reaching millions, and legal challenges have united to push for a free and liberated Palestine.
Today, there are more people on the streets for a free and liberated Palestine than ever before in human history.
The long-term and most enduring strategy is to support resistance, and do whatever is needed here in Canada to protect those who are taking action and speaking out.
Thank you for standing with us and with the people of Gaza.
Until Palestine is Free,
